If you want to add a unique spin to a Fruit of the Month Club, try an “exotic” fruit club. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual pears, apples and oranges.

The following photos of fruit are some of the shipments we received from The Fruit Company’s “Harvest Club Exotica“…
Star Fruit and Kiwi:

Pomegranites (note: the kumquats were delayed, so we opted to receive all pomeganites and get our shipment faster):

Cara Cara Navel Oranges and Blood Oranges (darn… forogt to take photos of their flesh to show the nice, red color):

Red Bananas and Fingerlings (yes, they are supposed to be that dark):

The 3-month Fruit Stand Club from Cushman’s offers great value and makes a perfect gift. The club is only available once per year, and includes Navel Oranges in December, HoneyBells in January and Ruby Red Grapefruit in February. Each shipment has 8 – 9 lbs of fruit, which means you get a lot more than the average Fruit of the Month Club.
Here is our shipment of Navel oranges from December:
12 beautiful, juicy oranges. Mmmmm……
Citrus keeps a long time in the refrigerator (the card from Cushman’s says citrus will last for several weeks in the fridge), so it’s okay if you don’t eat it all at once.
The Fruit Stand Club is the best value we’ve found on Fruit of the Month Clubs. And for well under $100, you can give a great gift that lasts into February.
Cushman’s is offering Free Shipping on all Fruit Clubs through 12/31/2011. Use coupon code CUSHFSD.

This review covers the mangoes we received from the Organic Harvest Fruit Club from The Fruit Company. Five mangoes were included in the shipment.

They were large, ready to eat, and delicious! Seriously, these were some of the best mangoes I’ve ever had. They were sweet, juicy and just the right amount of ripe.

I was super-pleased with this Fruit of the Month Club selection. We enjoyed mangoes for several days and they were such a treat!

November is pear-month for the Harry and David Organic Fruit of the Month Club. We have been getting fruit from Harry and David for years. Pears are one of our favorites!
Harry and David has been in the business for a very long time, and they offer a very generous satisfaction guaranteed policy. On a few occasions, the fruit we received was less than satisfactory. After a quick phone call to customer service, they quickly remedied the situation by sending out another package, which has always been perfect. It’s good to know that they back their Satisfaction Guaranteed policy.
We received 7 beautiful pears for the November Organic Fruit of the Month Club selection from Harry & David.
If you want to give a delightful gift this holiday season, try the Harry and David Organic Fruit of the Month Club. Clubs start at around $40 per month.

Today’s Gift Club review is for the well-known and very popular Fruit of the Month Club from Harry & David. The October Organic Fruit of the Month Club featured beautiful (and huge!) Royal Riviera® Pears. What a treat!

Secured in classic Harry & David packaging, the pears arrived perfectly in tact without a single bruise. There were 7 pears total in the shipment.

The pears were still a little hard, so I followed the instructions and left them out for a few days to soften up. After 2 days, I stuck half in the fridge and left the other half out another day.
When I bit into the first pear – WOW! It was perfect! Not too hard, not too soft. And so incredibly SWEET! Just what you would hope a pear would taste like.
I used one in a fresh smoothie with some strawberries and bananas. Topped it off with a little cinnamon and it was way better than anything you get at the local smoothie shop. The pears really complemented the cinnamon spice and made for a great fall treat.
Overall, we were quite pleased with our first Organic Fruit of the Month Club from Harry & David. Stay tuned… we have 11 more month to bring you photos & reviews of each and every selection!
